It is confirmed now that Canon will announce 2 new EOS R bodies in the first half of 2020. But unfortunately, there is nothing confirmed yet about what these two new EOS R bodies are.
There are still some rumours about the first EOS R body, that could be the high megapixel full-frame EOS RS – to be announced in February 2020.
And the second EOS R body might be rumoured EOS R Mark II.
What will be new and different in Mark II of EOS R series is maybe just some guessing or rumors.
Canon EOS R Mark II Rumored Specs are:
- IBIS (finally CANON!)
- DIGIC X (Should not be mixed with DIGIC 10)
- 12fps – oh really?!
- ISO 100 – 51,200
- 1 SD card slot
- 1 CFexpress slot – why not just 2 SD card slots?!
- No crop 4K video with DPAF – Yes Yes Yes!!!
- No RAW video – hm… why?
- 5mp EVF – that is nice
These are somehow Canon rumors for two new EOS R bodies. If there will be IBIS and no crop at 4k video shooting… that would make me happy (considering of buying a Sony A7 III or Canon EOS R).
Only thing that is still somewhere in the air is the price of a new device.
