There are beautiful days ahead of us. Well I am talking about summer, sunshine, flowers, green grass, short sleeves, light dresses, longer days etc.

This is very convenient for me because I know that I will go outside and make some photoshoots with my camera and my DJI Spark. Why am I even writing about this would you ask. Well, I am trying to gain some more followers on my Instagram page/account. So, lately I am trying lots of things that were recommended by big influencers.

POSTING MATTERS

I have started posting regularly, at least every second day if not every day. It is important, to show followers that your profile is not inactive one, that it is actually worthy of being followed. The same importance if not even more important are Instagram Stories. They are actually an easy way to show that your account is alive. With posted stories, you show to your potential followers, that in the last 24 hours you were active on Instagram.
HINT:
When you publish a photo/post on Instagram, do the same in the story. Post a story with the same photo and write that you have a new post with some important hashtags. This is because lot’s of people are checking stories and they will see that you have a new post in the last 24 hours. Cool, right?

USE BIGGER PROFILES FOR HELP

The second thing I have tried and I am still doing it to boost my IG is, to recommend my photos to bigger profiles. You do this just by writing a direct message to bigger profiles with the same or similar niche if they are ready to post your photo and feature your Instagram page in their profile. First time I have done this, I have gained more than 1k followers. It is important, that you do this quickly after you have posted a new post on your channel.
IMPORTANT: The first hour after you post a new post is the most important hour to make a lot of engagement for your post. Instagram algorithms are constantly checking how much of engagement your post is getting in the first hour, how much of comments and likes. If you receive a lot of engagement in the first hour then the Instagram algorithm is going to push your post higher in your followers feeds. More and more followers are going to see your post.

ARE PAID PROMOTIONS WORTHY?

You are probably thinking, what about the paid promotion on Instagram? Boosting your posts directly on Instagram is not so important. Why? (I hope Instagram won’t ban me for this) I have tried with different posts and all I got was likes on that post and nothing more. I have hardly received any followers because of boosting my posts on Instagram. All I got was a lot of likes on that specific post I have boosted. But this might actually also help since your post has a lot of likes it is ranked higher with Instagram and that might help Instagram followers to find your profile faster, but I think this is much harder and longer path for gaining more followers on Instagram. You can try it for yourself. Just make sure that you choose the right audience. Make sure it is not too broad and not too narrow. Pick also interests of the audience so that they match your content. And don’t overdo it. It is enough to spend 1 or 2 $ or EUR per day. You can always spend more, but I don’t recommend it. If you decided to boost your post, then boost it right after you have published it… you know The Algorithms.

ENGAGEMENT WITH COMMUNITY

The most important thing when you are trying to gain more followers on Instagram is communication with other people, other profiles/pages. It means that you go through the posts you might like. You can actually follow special channels/hashtags and then comment and like posts that you like and that are somehow connected with your content. It just means that you leave a comment to the posts you like and maybe invite them to go to your profile and leave you a comment. Writing comments is very important to be noticed by bigger profiles and their followers. I see now that engagement is really the key to gaining new followers and likes. More comments you leave and more people you follow, more reach you will gain and more followers are going to follow you back. And yes it is important that you don’t just write “Amazing” or just put there emoticon smile, be yourself, ask question, be natural, be human… that way instagramers won’t thought of you as a bot. This is actually a way to warn others about yourself, about your amazing content.

ANSWER TO EVERY COMMENT

When someone leaves you a comment or two, you have to respond to that comments. Don’t just insert an emoticon or write “Thank you”. Be creative. If someone comments you “Hey this is really a great photo. Looks like it is a really beautiful place” you can answer “Thank you. I appreciate it. Yes, this place is really amazing, it is there and there and they have this and that…” You see… be creative, make a conversation. It is important to have longer comments on your posts and as many as possible, because of the Instagram algorithms. Again. Yes, they are so important.

YOU ARE STILL LOSING FOLLOWERS

When you will gain some followers, you will also lose them. Some people would unfollow you if you don’t follow them. You can start following almost everyone that is following you, but this is actually not quite necessary. It is healthier for your account to have less following accounts than you have followers. People are rather following that accounts with less following people that followers. Since Instagram doesn’t show information about the following pages and if they are following you back, you can use an external tool called Cleaner for Instagram. If someone asks you to follow for follow, maybe you return the favor. You might be losing followers also if you are inactive. A lot of bigger accounts are using tools that automatically do some of the followings and unfollowing. They also use filters if the account is inactive it will be unfollowed. You can also check out the accounts that are in your niche and have more than 50k followers and check if their followers are real and then start following their followers. And again check out with different tools if followers are following you back, otherwise unfollow them.

BUYING FOLLOWERS?

Buying followers might be useful for… wait… why? There are a lot of services that are offering different numbers of followers for a funny small amount of money. It is so tempting that you have to double check if it is true. But there is a problem with this. Are you really willing to get a lot of followers that are not even a real person and then act like you are a big influencer with a lot of followers but all you get is 30 or even fewer likes on every post you post? There is also a tool to check the quality of someone’s Instagram account. It gives you information about account’s followers and it’s real followers. Check out IG Audit tool.
